Cognitive Density is the first sealed body of work in Matt McClaning’s ongoing investigation into how contemporary perception experiences calm and focus through structured complexity. Challenging the traditional association of tranquility with silence and reduction, this body proposes an alternative model—one in which repetition, saturation, and visual density function as stabilizing forces for minds shaped by constant stimulation, where complexity becomes soothing rather than overwhelming.
